Solar System Science Fair Success!

What a wonderful Solar System Science fair day we had! Some of the children presented their projects this week, the rest will present next week. We are looking forward to seeing what other wonderful ideas were created. 

We have seen an amazing array of projects – a necklace of all the planets in the solar system, a report on the planets, focus on Jupiter and Saturn, a model and report  on Voyager 1&2 and a model of the solar system. You all worked very hard. Congratulations and great job everyone!

Women’s History Month

Its women’s history month (Sorry about this post coming at the end of the month).

Teach your daughters (and sons!) just how amazing women have and can be.

 Here are a few obscure names and groups to look for:

 America‘s Founding Mother: Clarina Nichols Lived: 1810 – 1885

 She founded the field of pediatric cardiology: Dr. Helen Taussig Lived: 1898-1986

 The First Woman To Demand The Right To Vote: Margaret Brent Lived: 1601-1671

 Unsung WWII Heroines: The WASP Female Fighter Pilots Formed: 1942 Disbanded: 1944

Solar System Success!

What a terrific field trip! We learned about the solar system and how ancient man viewed the stars. The favorites of the day seem to have been constellations, traveling to other planets and the train display downstairs. 

Congratulations everyone, not only were we on time we were all EARLY! Bravo!

We’ll discuss Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune next week and build dioramas. Please bring any material you feel may be helpful, your notes and reports.
